Boomer's Neighborhood

Welcome home!  Years ago, if you were new to the neighborhood, someone would probably come knocking on the door to introduce themselves.  Maybe, just maybe, they even had a fresh baked pie in their hands to welcome you.  Well times have changed my friends! 

We seem to be less connected to one another.  Unless you live in an active 55+ senior community or have family living nearby, we seem to be more isolated than ever from one another these days.  This is the reason I wanted to create this website as a forum to provide information and news with a senior citizen bent without all the drama.  Remember when we used to just sit around and listen to a radio program together! 

One of my goals is to host Podcasts that have a short general topic of interest to our community, highlight some of the trending news as it pertains to seniors (like changes in government services or programs) or more frequently some not too serious light news, health topics, and budgeting tips to show us ways to make ends meet. 

The website and blog will focus strictly on our community, and I added useful site links to help seniors locate government services, health information, news organizations, phone and internet providers, pharmacies, stores, and travel all in one convenient place.  It is not all inclusive by any means but covers many commonly used sites that seniors look up for help on a daily basis.  The links take you directly to the site; this is not a pay for clicks scheme for those skeptics!  If you are like me, I just cannot remember all of those domain names.
